As you all know, my blog is called, The Happening: The Ramblings of a College Student, I guess that will soon have to be changed to The Happening: The Ramblings of a Postgraduate.

I am so happy to officially announce that I graduate from The University of Texas at Arlington in about 8 weeks! Specifically December 14, 2013 at 7:00PM. After bouncing around from major to major, which incidentally started with Civil Engineering concentrating in Structural and Environmental Science, I finally settled with a major in Advertising and minor in Public Relations.

At the beginning of having just switched majors, it was PR major and Advertising as a minor and even at one point decided I was going to minor in French and history. I was/am one of the typical college students that not necessarily was undecided, but more on the "oh, I really enjoyed that class maybe I should minor in the subject." Honestly it went on like this for the first 2 years of my undergraduate career and would have proceeded with these minors, but major classes started conflicting with times. You're probably thinking French? Yes, I know French. I've been learning French for about 8 years. I can read, write, and speak it (speaking French is a slow process for me, I never was really good at speaking at a normal speed with French). If someone is speaking French to me I do know what they are saying, I'm actually 2 classes shy of a minor or 5 away from a major. You see how many hours I took now? Haha!

In my process of attaining my degree, I became a coffee addict. As I type this, I'm sitting here drinking a Venti White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks. Coffee got me through stressful mornings, cold mornings walking through campus, late night study sessions, and last minute research papers. It's a semi-expensive habit, but I'd say is a healthier habit than picking up smoking.

It feels like just yesterday that I was moving into A-Hall with my best friend Jessica, freshman year. Going to dorm parties, eating at Subway and Cick-Fil-A, and late night trips to 7-Eleven, because were hungry. Now, I'm worrying about getting a job after graduation. I, along with my fellow 2013 graduates will be the ones sending resumes to every firm, company, and agency.

Before I stress too much about getting a job, I will be stressing about classes, projects, campaigns, clients, midterms, finals, finding a dress for graduation, and graduate photos.

Until next time,
Felipa xoxo
