Happy Belated Thanksgiving or Happy Black Friday?

Hello readers, how was everyone's holiday? Mine was spent with family, food, and football. We were eating and watching the Cowboys game it's basically like tradition. Well, we were just digging into our food and what happens? Oakland made a touchdown and just about everyone erupted and yelling expletives, good thing we won or else that would have put a damper to our holiday. I had a grand ole time up until I was ready to drop dead from exhaustion, lack of sleep, and cocktails. People always say they go crazy with alcohol, me not so much, it's a sure fire way to make me sleepy.

Anyways, I didn't see the point of Black Friday, I only bought 2 things which were DVDs. I got Warm Body's and Argo coming to a total of $10 at Target. Fun.

Here are photos from yesterday's dinner. I was messing around with filters on photoshop so thats why they look retro-ish/vintage-ish, whatever you want to call it.

Christmas Lights and Ugly Sweaters

It's about that time of year when every town starts putting up the Christmas tree and lights for it's residents to enjoy. I LOVE looking at Christmas lights, decorations, tees, etc. My friends and I have been wanting to take photos with Santa while wearing the ridiculously adorable ugly sweaters. Yes we are between the ages of 22-24, but seriously, the holidays usually bring out the kid in us.

Below are some of the sweaters that are available at Walmart. They range from prices of $10-20. Very reasonably priced and I can't wait to buy one They are also some very intense ones available at Dillard's. They range anywhere from $40-100. Expensive right? The reason, well they light up! That's just too much for me, but go for it you dare. LOL.

As I've said before, I do live in Dallas, Texas, so below are some recommendations to my readers that happen to live in the DFW Metroplex.

  • VITRUVIAN LIGHTS (FREE)-- The outdoor light display features LED lights on more than 200 trees around Vitruvian Park’s 12 acres. On Dec. 8, the Magical Saturday Nights of Lights music series runs from 6 to 10 p.m. and features smooth crooner Ricki Derek’s A Merry Little Christmas Show, followed by Elfadelic. The light display runs through Jan. 1 at Vitruvian Park, 3850 Vitruvian Way, Addison. Free. vitruvianpark.com.

  • CHRISTMAS IN THE SQUARE (FREE) -- It's a free light show set to holiday music in this Frisco celebration. Other attractions include carriage rides and special activities on select dates.

  • Sundance Square Christmas Tree (FREE)-- It features a huge decorated christmas tree and photo ops with Santa.

  • Klyde Warren Park (FREE) -- Features the Dallas "BIG" sign campaign, but instead of them being blue they are colored in making the "B" and "G" like giant candy canes. Also there is a big tree in the center that creates a great backdrop to any photo opportunity.

  • Grapevine- "The Christmas Capital of Texas" (FREE) -- Historic Downtown Grapevine
    November 29, 30 and December 1
    December 6, 7 and 8
    December 13, 14 and 15
    December 20, 21 and 22

Step back in time this season at Christmas on Main! With the beautiful backdrop of the Victorian-style buildings dressed up with ribbons, bows and wreaths and set aglow with twinkling lights,

    Christmas on Main hours:
    Fridays, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.
    Saturdays, Noon - 5 p.m.
    Sundays, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

There are honestly so many beautiful places for photo ops in Grapevine at this time that it would make this post really long. Go check it out if you have time!

Hey guys, here's a quick update with today's free printable. Don't forget to pin it on Pinterest. Why the quick update? Well because I've been working on other material and crafting. I LOVE crafting. Seriously, it's like a part-time hobby of mines. I'm going to Michael's perhaps on Black Friday? Who knows, but I'll be making a wreathe from mesh and stuff like that. What am I currently crafting? My graduation hat is SO getting tricked out (Do people still say this?)! Let's just say it involves glitter, scissors, and my monogram.

Here's the printable:
Tip: to print on the whole page (8.5 X 11) got to your printer settings and set the PDF to "FIT" page. Otherwise it will print like it shows on the preview window.

Music Monday, Catching Fire, and Divergent

Hey guys, if you have noticed lately I've been posting regularly! Finally, I know. Well I have the time to sit and write and create material for this lovely blog. Today I decided that I would share what music I'm currently listening to on my iPhone/iPod. Some of the music is fairly new and some are off the The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Soundtrack, which I love and goes directly with the movie/book.

Incidentally , did anyone go see Catching Fire this weekend? I sure did and it was in IMAX. I was worried that it would not follow the book or that they would change scenes like they did with the first movie. I think the thing with book-movie adaptations is that they could either be really good or really bad. This one was SO right and So good! I loved it and my best friend agreed. We both have read the books, so of course we have this whole imaginary world already living in our minds and how things should go. Although the first part of the movie was some what rushed, I think the "Game Scenes" made up for it. It was an intense 2+hours of action. I will admit I got a bit emotional with some of the movie, I'm one of those, the cryer, but I held it in mostly because  I was in public and did NOT want everyone seeing my raccoon eyes, LOL! Also, the Divergent trailer! I basically fan-girled through what I assume was 60-second trailer. I have a little crush on Tobias, #4, Theo James whatever you want to call him and I read the series so there is that. I can't wait!

Here is my Monday Music Playlist:

What have you guys been listening to?

Digital Designing

Guess who got Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator?! This girl, right here! It's a trial version, but I plan on on purchasing the whole version. I've always wanted to do a type of typography graphic and finally had a chance to design one with one of my favorite quotes. I used the chalk-board style graphic to make the final product. I'm in the process on working on a new header for this very website. I mean I'm no longer going to be a rambling college student, but rather a a postgraduate.

I think I'll be making a graphic for christmas and perhaps start designing things for other bloggers or even provide free pdf downloads, iPhone and desktop wallpapers! The possibilities are endless! I'm excited about this so keep a look out for future posts containing downloads.

Here is my first creation!

Christmas Shopping?

When is it too soon to buy christmas presents? Some would say the perfect day is the day after Thanksgiving. I personally dread Black Friday! According to my sister, whom happens to work as a buying director at a major department store, the biggest sales will occur BEFORE "Black Friday and Cyber Monday". As I type this blog post, I have 9 tabs open to 9 different stores where I'm currently finding deals and steals (always wanted to write that) for family and friends gifts, oh who am I kidding, I'm also buying myself stuff. I like the motto: One for You, One for Me.

I was really having a hard time figuring out what exactly i should buy my friends. I mean I'm all for the cute stuff we usually give each other, but now that we are all almost out of college and getting older I thought maybe I should gift them something more useful. I still of course wanted it to be cute, I mean it's a must. We are best friends! Anyways after freaking about it for the past week, I finally found the perfect gift. I'll be adding more to it of course but at least I got the major item out of the way and now I can relax. Sort of.

I now have to find the most perfect and pretty gift wrapping ever! Why? Well one of the four of us, that one being Bianca, always gives us such thoughtful gifts wrapped up in the BEST wrapping paper. I always feel like I didn't put so much thought into it because I always throw the gift into some tissue paper and into a holiday bag and call it a day. Not this year sister! I'm so going to find a cute print.

Have y'all done your holiday shopping? or will you be waiting till after Thanksgiving? Oh and one last thing, yay or nay on christmas decorations being present on Thanksgiving?

I'll leave y'all with a quote from my inspiration quote notebook. Yes, I have one.
"The question isn't who is going to let me, it's who is going to stop me."- Ayn Rand

Almost here. Almost there.

The finish line is almost here and by that I mean that in less than 30 days I will walking across the stage! It's exciting and terrifying that I'm almost done with school, but until then, today I took graduation photos. I chose the electric blue dress and orange neckless to coordinate with my school's colors. It was so windy that I almost had a Marilyn Monroe moment. Below are photos and a photo of my mom and aunt. My mom is on the left and aunt on the right.

Weekends are fun.

Well haven't I procrastinated on posts! Not really, I just have been busy with school and hanging out with friends. I actually made time in my planner to sit down and write or else this blog would have been pushed to the back of my to do list.

What have I been up to? Well, besides the mundane routine of writing, research, and editing for classes, nothing much besides hanging out with friends the past 2 weeks. Last friday (November 1), my best friends and I took part of the 5K fun run, Bad Prom Run. It' was fun, but hard to run or even attempt to jog with there being 4,000 participants according to the run announcer. The run itself was held at night featuring different prom themes with music. There was even a place to take after the run, like there was at regular high school prom. I suggest everyone try to participate in the run in your city. Afterwards we went to iHop and had these huge breakfasts. I know, healthy right? We weren't the only ones either, ha! My pictures are actually posted on Instagram if y'all would like to take a look at those.

Now, the concert that I had been looking forward to for 2 months finally happened this past Saturday! I had purchased the concert tickets back on September 14 and the actual date of the concert was November 9th. Yes, I patiently waited for this day to arrive. Who did I go see? It was the Eli Young Band House Party! It was held at the Texas Rangers Ballpark, the first stand alone concert at the ballpark. Apparently there was over 20,000 people in attendance. I believe it, they originally planned for the infield and 4 sections of seating on the bottom level of the stadium to sell, then they sold out and eventually opened it up all the way to the 3rd level of seating. It was so hard to pick out an outfit that was cute but weather appropriate since I knew the temperature was going to drop. Finally satisfied with what I was wearing for the night with my best friends in tow, we got to enjoy the music of Easton Corbin, Thompson Square, Josh Abbott Band, and of course Eli Young Band. There was 2 special guests that sang with EYB that night. Any guesses? Well, it was Pat Green and Lucy Hale! Yes, Lucy Hale as in Aria Montgomery from Pretty Little Liars! She sang part of the song "Even If It Breaks Your Heart." She has an amazing voice, and I can't wait for her album to come out. It was such a fun night although it was quite chilly. We wrapped up the night for a late night eating fest at Cafe Brazil in Addison. I'll post photo's from that night below.
