Christmas Lights and Ugly Sweaters

by Felipa Villegas, 8:04 AM
It's about that time of year when every town starts putting up the Christmas tree and lights for it's residents to enjoy. I LOVE looking at Christmas lights, decorations, tees, etc. My friends and I have been wanting to take photos with Santa while wearing the ridiculously adorable ugly sweaters. Yes we are between the ages of 22-24, but seriously, the holidays usually bring out the kid in us.

Below are some of the sweaters that are available at Walmart. They range from prices of $10-20. Very reasonably priced and I can't wait to buy one They are also some very intense ones available at Dillard's. They range anywhere from $40-100. Expensive right? The reason, well they light up! That's just too much for me, but go for it you dare. LOL.

As I've said before, I do live in Dallas, Texas, so below are some recommendations to my readers that happen to live in the DFW Metroplex.

  • VITRUVIAN LIGHTS (FREE)-- The outdoor light display features LED lights on more than 200 trees around Vitruvian Park’s 12 acres. On Dec. 8, the Magical Saturday Nights of Lights music series runs from 6 to 10 p.m. and features smooth crooner Ricki Derek’s A Merry Little Christmas Show, followed by Elfadelic. The light display runs through Jan. 1 at Vitruvian Park, 3850 Vitruvian Way, Addison. Free.

  • CHRISTMAS IN THE SQUARE (FREE) -- It's a free light show set to holiday music in this Frisco celebration. Other attractions include carriage rides and special activities on select dates.

  • Sundance Square Christmas Tree (FREE)-- It features a huge decorated christmas tree and photo ops with Santa.

  • Klyde Warren Park (FREE) -- Features the Dallas "BIG" sign campaign, but instead of them being blue they are colored in making the "B" and "G" like giant candy canes. Also there is a big tree in the center that creates a great backdrop to any photo opportunity.

  • Grapevine- "The Christmas Capital of Texas" (FREE) -- Historic Downtown Grapevine
    November 29, 30 and December 1
    December 6, 7 and 8
    December 13, 14 and 15
    December 20, 21 and 22

Step back in time this season at Christmas on Main! With the beautiful backdrop of the Victorian-style buildings dressed up with ribbons, bows and wreaths and set aglow with twinkling lights,

    Christmas on Main hours:
    Fridays, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.
    Saturdays, Noon - 5 p.m.
    Sundays, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

There are honestly so many beautiful places for photo ops in Grapevine at this time that it would make this post really long. Go check it out if you have time!

Until next time,
Felipa xoxo
