Bored of Plain Water

Hello readers!

I think I've mentioned on here before that I rarely drink soda, and when I say soda, I'm talking about Mountain Dew or Sprite. I've never been a fan of soda to begin with so it really isn't hard for me not to drink it. Besides the ingredient that gives the dark sodas their "caramel" color is being linked to causing cancer!

I prefer water when available if not, then it's lemonade or the blue Powerade. I must admit sometime drinking just water can get a bit, boring. I do like a little flavor here and there, which is why I like to sometimes add those Crystal Light packets to my water bottle, but not very often.

The other day while on a little healthy grocery shopping trip to Whole Foods, I came across to what I'm assuming a new product ( at least to me) that was similar to Crystal Light. The product was Trachealth Drink Mix- Chia + Strawberry Lemonade. The label said the it was "Plant based nutrition, antioxidants, electrolytes, Omega-3's, and fiber, non-gmo, gluten-free, and vegan." I'm a total sucker for new products and it seemed so healthy, even though it is 80 calories (probably because of the chia seeds). Today I finally got around to mixing the packet into some water. It's actually really good and not to sweet like with many of the water mixing drink packets tend to be. It is a bit weird drinking it at first because of the seeds. My suggestion is to let it sit for a few minutes so the seeds become soft and that way you won't have this crunchy texture when you're drinking it. It comes with awful lot of seeds, which I didn't finish. I would definitely buy it again, perhaps the box this time around and not just a sample 1-packet that I picked up that day. Or, I could maybe for a cheaper alternative (the Trachealth was 99-cents, not bad but I'm sure it could be cheaper) use the Crystal Light packet and just add a tablespoon of chia seeds (I buy chia seeds anyways for my smoothies). I'll post some photos of the drink below.

Will you be trying this product or making it your own? Or is it just to weird to drink something with seeds in it?

Until next time,
Felipa xoxo
