DIY: Instagram Photos on Canvas

Hey readers! I've worked hard to come up with exciting content for you guys to read. Well, I finally got around to using all the Instagram PostalPix that I had printed a while back and created wall art!

The materials I used for this projects were:

  • 2-pack Canvas of 12"x 12" in size. (You only need one, but I had 72 photos so I needed 2)

  • 1 sponge-brush

  • Mod Podge

  • PostalPix App (I use it on the iPhone)- PostalPix is an app that takes your Instagram photos and prints them for you, then are mailed to you.

STEP ONE:
Arrange the photos how you want them. These particular photos are 2" X 2".

STEP TWO:
Apply a coat of the Mod Podge with your sponge-brush onto the canvas. This will act as an adhesive for when you place you photos. I suggest doing it as-you-go,  so that you are applying a coat to the canvas row by row.

STEP THREE:
Start adding coats of Mod Podge OVER the actual photos. You will think that it will ruin them, but it won't. It will dry clear. I should say that Mod Podge has the same consistency as Elmer's Glue, you know the one everyone used in elementary.

STEP FOUR:
Add a few coats to the canvas after letting it dry. I ended up adding 5 light coats of the Mod Podge. I selected the Gloss-Sluster Mod Podge because I figured since the photo prints were already matte, that I didn't think I should make them even more matte. I like the finish the canvas gets. A nice glossy surface. It is texturized because of the coats. It really feels like the photographs professional use for canvas. A bit of soft yet rough texture.

Will your try this DIY? Do you print your Instagram photos? Let me know, don't forget to pin the photos!

Until next time,
