Fall Essential: LL Bean Boots

As summer comes to an end, it's time to ramp up on your fall fashion. I'll be doing a series of blog posts dedicated Fall Fashion Essentials so keep a look out for that. In the meantime, this blog post is dedicated to L.L. Bean Boots.

Influenster: Kat Von D Lock-It VoxBox

Last month, Influenster sent a lucky few a big box of goodies to review. And what was that? It was the newest collection of Kat Von D's Lock-It makeup collection! I was beyond excited to get the news that I was receiving these products.

I have previously had only used one product from the Kat Von D collection, and that was the face primer, which lasted about 2-months with everyday use. I loved it and purchased it again from Sephora.

In the box (pictured above) I received:

The Lock-It Concealer Creme in both light and medium.

The Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush

The Lock-It Setting Powder

And the Lock-It Setting Powder Brush

Why did it take me a whole month to write this review? Well, one, I really wanted to see if I even liked the products which I did, a lot! And second, well I've been suffering from the flu, so I've finally had enough energy to begin to write again.

Now to my review:

The brushes are extremely soft, by far the nicest brushes I own. From the photos, you can definitely tell that they have been used. The concealers are extremely creamy and make you think they will leave you with a dewy look, but it's actually matte! I love matte everything so these guys were perfect for me. The light shade that is not pictured, I gave to my sister as she has fair skin and I used the medium color which was still a bit lighter than what I usually use but it did the job.

They offer great full coverage for any imperfections such as dark circles, sun spots, blemishes, it covers it all!

Finally, the setting powder is just as good as the Laura Mercier version. It keeps everything in place and covers large pores. I have some large pores near my t-zone so this stuff makes it easy to cover them out. It's very light-weight and you don't end up feeling it all and smoothes any smooth fine lines on you face. This is probably my favorite product out of the whole box.

Have you guys used any of these products? Let me know!

All products were sent to me for free for review and test.

Happy Planner Because Planners Got To Plan

I've been gone for a bit, but I'm back with new content and the first thing is my new planner from Me And My Big Idea. I've been a fan of their Happy Planners for quite a while now and they recently released a new 18-month planner that starts up in July. I selected the Love Your Life cover for this new planner because has cute watercolor interior pages and a whimsical calligraphy as the text. You can see this in the photo below. I also used the coupon to get the planner for half off.

Additionally, I purchased the arc hole puncher for the planner to add to the planner for note takings and to attach stickers that I print from my Cricut to plan out the days of the week. A little savings advice, buy the whole puncher at Michaels and use the 40% or 50% off coupon to get this for just $15. The original price for this hole puncher is usually $29.99 + tax.

I decided to use this planner as more of a memory planner and a daily planner second. Below is last week's spread of "memory planning".

Does anyone else use the happy planner? Let me know in the comments!

Maybelline FitMe Matte + Poreless Foundation

I was recently sent a full sized foundation of Maybelline FitMe Matt+Poreless Foundation thanks to Maybelline and Influenster. I chose the shade 222-True Beige.

I'll be completely honest and say that I had used and still use this foundation. As much as I like high-end "designer" foundations, this one is the only one that really keeps my face from becoming too oily or from wearing down after a long day at the office. I normally use the FitMe in 310-Sun Beige, but it was just a tad orange and more tanned than I currently am. Don't get me wrong, it really is my shade, but only during the summer. This is why I chose to go with the 222 True Beige.

This shade actually turned out to be the EXACT shade my face is without makeup, which gives me that no-makeup makeup look. I have nothing but good things to say about this foundation. It's very blendable and I don't think it's a medium to full-coverage. This is a full on full coverage foundation in my opinion and I LOVE that! This foundation comes in 40 different shades for every skin tone.

Things to be aware of, I used to use a mattifying primer after I moisturized using other foundations. Do NOT use a mattifying primer with this foundation, it will dry the hell out of your face. It's like matte on matte. So, now I use a regular veil moisturising primer and this foundation over it. It does blur pores and is great for combination skin.

I will keep using this foundation until summer comes around, then I'll switch back to my normal 310-Sun Beige, cause you know, tanning.

Until next time,

Dollar Shave Club Not Just For Men!

Last week I finally signed up for the Dollar Shave Club! You know, that subscription for cheap, but high-quality razors target for men. However, it's also now known to be unisex for who actually buys the razors.

I'll start off by saying that I've always loved men's razors because I feel the blades are made to be for SUPER SENSITIVE skin, cause it's supposed to be used for the face, not legs. My go to and only brand that does not cause razor burn for me is the Gillette Venus Swirl 5-blade Razor. Let me tell y'all; the refills are EXPENSIVE! I'm talking $20 for 4 refills when they are on sale at Target. I know that's expensive, but every brand that's not at least 5-blades or from Gillette, I get the worst razor bumps and tend to bleed. Not cute.

So, in an attempt to save money and still have a good quality razor for sensitive skin, I decided to give Dollar Shave Club a chance. I chose The Executive razor, which happens to be the one with the most blades. This initial razor package is $9 with free shipping and has 4 cartridges with 6 stainless steel blades and the actual razor handle that feels high-end because it's heavy. After that, every month you get 4 cartridges per month for just $9! That's more than half than what I was paying before!

Here are some pictures of what my razor came in and what it looks like:

It was a tiny package and it came with a sample. I haven't tried it yet, but I can definitely tell the blades are sharp. I'll put an update, or just announce it on my social media profiles which you can find me by the username: iamfelipa. My username is literally the same for each social media profile everywhere.

Would you guys get a "men's razor"? If you want a $9 razor or $6 for the 4-blade razor you can get yours here: http://shaved.by/dLOAs

Until next time,

Disclaimer: I purchased this subscription with my own money. All opinions are my own.

Ipsy April Bag Review

I got another Ipsy bag in the mail on Friday! My April bag was actually on time, unlike my March one, I also really like this one better. I feel like all of these are items I would purchase, except for the eye shadows (I'm not an eyeshadow girl to begin with).

Quick disclaimer: I pay for this subscription myself and no one is paying for my review on any of the products shown. Now if you would like to start your $10 subscription of Ispy, you can do so by clicking here: Ipsy Subscription.

Without further ado, here are this month's goodies:

This month's zip bag actually looks more for summer than spring, but I don't mind. I just hope I find a use for all the ones I'm sure to get.

This and another not pictured are by far my favorite products in this month's Ipsy bag.

I love masks of any kind and I've seen a lot of other bloggers and vloggers using these "sheet masks". This will be the first time I use this type but I've always heard good things about the ones Sephora carries.

Fortunate for me, I've actually heard of Pur-lisse brand. Two of them were included in the bag so I'll be using them really soon.

This super soft brush is exactly what I've been searching for to use for my banana pressed powder! I'm super happy this came in this months bag. I'm actually looking forward to more brushes in future bags.

This Ren Clean Skincare - Evercalm lotion is really creamy, and just a tad bit greasy. I'm not a big fan of when I get lotions in my subscription boxes. I have way too many!

I'm a fan of tarte so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that it was included in the bag. I'm a big fan of red colors for lipsticks. This one is very creamy and very pigmented. I would definitely consider buying the full size of this product.

As I said at the beginning, I'm not an eyeshadow person. I rarely wear any, but this palette is actually very pigmented and super soft. I'm not sure if I will ever use it tho. Also, I've never heard of this brand and the packaging is VERY cheap.

Those are all the items that were included in my April Ipsy Bag. I hope next month's bag has more masks, lipsticks, and brushes!

Until next time,

Matte Lipstick Review of Milani Cosmetics

I haven't blogged in a while because I've been busy with work and event planning. However, I'm back and with some new stuff to share. I stumbled upon Milani Cosmetics when I saw a bunch of YouTubers talking about the 2-in-1 Foundation/Concealer that Milani has created. I actually bought it and do love the full coverage it provides. So thumbs up to all the YouTubers for giving their review.

After browsing the CVS Milani display, I noticed Milani made matte lipsticks. However, they were completely out of them at my local CVS. So what did I do? I went on the Milani Cosmetics website and selected 6 colors.

You can see the color swatches on my hand in the picture below. The color order from top to bottom are #61- Naked, #68-Iconic, #69-Beauty, #71-Flirty, #73-Love, and #74-Darling.

You might not be able to tell from the photo, but these lipsticks actually don't dry out your lips like others can. I feel like NYX and Chanel matte lipsticks tend to dry my lips after a couple of hours of wear. These are VERY pigmented, but the best part, in my opinion, they don't leave that embarrassing lipstick chin stain like other brands' do. I've tried all six colors now, and they all go on very smooth which is something I appreciate from matte lipsticks.

The colors Love and Beauty are my favorites of the six. The Love stain is a very nice plum/brown combination that isn't extremely bold that you can easily pull it off in the daytime. Beauty is a nice neutral and what I call a soft brown matte lipstick. It's not as extreme as the Kylie brown lipsticks, but it looks great when you're rocking a bronze contour makeup look.

The packaging of the lipsticks are great, they look high-end and remind me of the Dolce & Gabbana packaging. They also fit in the acrylic makeup displays you see some of the beauty gurus on YouTubers use for their makeup. I have a few and love that they actually fit and display very pretty cause of the gold packaging.

All in all, I give my stamp of approval on these lipsticks and might order more soon. In the meantime, I think I'll give the Milani's liquid matte lipstick a try.

One last thing... They are only $5.99!

Until next time,

Julep Nail Polish: Spring Colors #bravepretty

With the first day of Spring behind us, that means we're in full swing with all pastel colors everything! Recently, Julep nail polish had a $5 sale on a lot of different colors, many of which were pastel.

I couldn't pass up the chance of great quality nail polish and the fact that it was super cheap! So, I ordered 4 spring colored polishes for only $20 + tax and free shipping. Side note: sign up for their newsletters, because you never know when they have sales, and usually they are AMAZING!

I've had previous been a Maven subscriber of theirs, but I found myself skipping boxes every month because I felt they were one, very similar to previous choices, and two, they were sometimes colors I didn't like. Having said that, I did love their product, because they were SUPER pigmented. I'm talking one coat of polish and you are good to go.

One more thing before I show these polishes off, they come packaged in a cute little box and colored shredded paper that helps as cushion for when they ship them!

Lilou - Bombshell

This nail polish is a nice pastel yellow. It looks great without being like a neon sign to your nails.

Alexa - Classic with a Twist

This is a gorgeous shade of lilac and it's very pigmented. This is probably my favorite cause I've had other brands in what is supposed to be this color, but in the end the only way to achieve the perfect lilac color is to have a base white polish coat. Not with this one!

Lillian - It Girl

This is a nude color which is very in right now too. I wouldn't say it's taupe cause it's very light with a bit of a pink tint. I have a similar color already by Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Birthday Suit.

Amy - Boho Glam

This one is a mix between turquoise and baby blue. It's just a really nice pastel blue tbh. It came in different packaging, but I'm not sure what the difference is. Same great pigmented nail polish as the rest.

Here is a look of all the colors that I swatched so you guys can see the real color of the nail polishes:

Do you guys use Julep polishes? Which brands are your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!

Also, I'm still waiting on my IPSY bag, which was supposed to arrive last Friday, now it's scheduled for Tuesday. Let's see what happens. When it get's here, I'll be sure to make a video!

Until next time,

Unboxing of Influensters Glam VoxBox #ChooseToSmooth

I never knew when I was going to get this video up, but I had some time today to finally get it done. Influenster from influenster.com, sent me a GlamBox earlier last week after being picked a week earlier.

A lot of the items I had used before except for one. Below or above (if you're directly on my homepage), you can see me talking about the products and how you can get involved with Influenster too. Also, check out my very amateur Final Cut Pro skills. I promise to get better :).

Until next time,

Unboxing The Polaroid Zip

Today's blog post is more like a vlog! I've made videos in the past, but lacked the quality camera to take the video and of course, my editing skills were mediocre at best. There's still one minor problem, I didn't have the right SD Card! Cue rolling eyes, but no biggie now, since I ordered a high-speed SD Card for my Canon and should arrive tomorrow! Yasss for more blogging and blogging!

I filmed myself unboxing my new Polaroid Zip. Just for a quick recap of the video, the printer is a pocket sized bluetooth enabled device that works with the use of your phone and the Polaroid Zip App. In the unboxing I also do a live first try demo of how it works and how the pictures come out.

I'd also like to let you know that I purchased all the items shown in the video with my own money. All opinions are my own.

Here is my unboxing video :).

I have a couple of more videos, but instead of technology, it will be about fashion and beauty! I'll also  be filming with less transitions and actually show myself instead of how I did a voiceover with this unboxing video. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel!

Valentines Shopping: For Yourself!

Valentine's is almost here! Now, just because it's valentine's and it's usually all about couples and etc., it doesn't mean you can't buy yourself something if you are single.

BeyoncĂ© (Destiny's Child) said to be an independent woman - so buy your own diamonds and your own rings! Ok enough of that, but really, it's just another excuse for me to buy something for myself.

Today I've selected some of my favorite item. Jewelry, clothes, and sunnies! Also, y'all those Dior Sunglasses might seem a bit over priced, but they are totally bomb! The polarized effect is one of the bests I've seen in a fashion accessory. I have 2 of the few I have added below. You might have seen me wearing them in my instagram pictures. Not so humble plug: Follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and snapchat with my user name @iamfelipa.

What will you be buying yourself this weekend? And guys maybe you'll want to buy one of the items for your girlfriends.

Until next time,

Wireless SD? No need! Apple has a solution!

I recently have become more interested in photography than before. I even invested in my first "prime lens" instead of using the kit lens on my Canon EOS Rebel T5.

A Little About The Lens I Purchased:

Last week, I went to Fry's and purchased a 24mm Canon Lens for my camera. It wasn't a spur of the moment purchase, I've been eyeing a few of the Canon Prime Lenses for quite a while. After reading up on the different lenses, I settled on the smallest "pancake lens" available within my budget. I've read countless of bloggers' blogs that said the 50mm and 80mm are the best for portraits.

What really sold me on the 24mm one was that, one it's AMAZING at wide angle shots, but also when filming or focusing on subject (person) whether it be a youtube video or an outfit of the day, this little lens blurs the background and adds a little vignette to photographs. I LOVE THAT! Also, it has a very quiet automatic focus, so when you film, there's NO noise if using the camera's built-in mic.

No Need for A Wireless SD Card or Camera:

Now back to the topic at hand. Did you read the title of the blog? Yeah, well I was SERIOUSLY thinking about buying one of those wifi-enabled SD cards, since my Canon T5 doesn't actually have a wireless feature like most newer cameras. Not that it's old, but it is an entry-level DSLR, so not all the bell and whistles are added to this model.

If you every Google the wifi SD cards, they are EXPENSIVE! You can get a 32GB SD cards these days for as little as $8 on Amazon, but these wifi ones run you $40 just for 8GB. NOPE.

Long story short, I found out that the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader by Apple, is now compatible with any iPhone that is running the most current iOS and is iPhon5 to the newest models. This will make sharing photos faster than I thought possible! It's $31 with tax and free shipping if you live in Texas. I can now buy a lot of cheap SD cards that hold more photos! Also, it makes for quick editing and Instagram sharing if you are on location or what have you and you don't have your laptop with you to transfer photos!

Would you buy this accessory? Let me know in the comments! I'll film a short review of the SD camera reader once it comes in, which it will on Thursday.
